How to Choose the Right Bra Size

A well-fitting bra is the foundation of every woman's wardrobe, yet about 80% of women don't know their correct size. A bra should not constrict anywhere but must stay in place. It's not that difficult, the basis is to measure correctly. How? Let's take a look together.

What you'll need for proper measurement:

  • Tailor's tape
  • Mirror
  • A non-padded bra

Underbust Circumference

  1. Stand straight and relaxed.
  2. Lead the tailor's tape horizontally directly under the bust line - we recommend checking in the mirror. Read the value on exhalation and the tape should be as tight as possible on the body. Round centimeters down and if your measured size is on the edge between two sizes in the chart, opt for the smaller one.
The circumference should carry 80% of the breasts' weight, so it needs to be precise. Every material will also loosen a bit over time, so it's better to have the option to move the fastening to tighter hooks later.

Chest Circumference Over Breasts

Similarly, measure the circumference over the breasts. It's better to measure wearing a lightly padded bra. If you have a push-up bra or one with really large padding, then it's preferable to measure without a bra.
  1. Again, lead the tape horizontally, this time over the breasts at the fullest point.
This measurement determines the cup size, which should be deep enough.

And how do you know if the bra fits correctly?

  • It doesn't stand off anywhere nor does it constrict.
  • Cups beautifully follow the breast line.
  • The end of the wires should point towards the center of the underarm.
  • It doesn’t shift when you raise your arms up.
  • Straps don’t dig into the shoulders.
